Our advice on

Council rules + regulations

Our Tiny Homes are built on trailers with wheels, so they currently don’t require a building permit and fall under the same regulations as caravans.

Majority of people that live In a tiny home are doing so without council permission, relying on Caravan Rules and Regulations (hence why they are on wheels).

Most councils do not recognise a “Tiny House”, however there is inconsistency in legislation from council to council and state to state. The best advise is to contact your local council to inquire if permits or approvals are required for your specific local council area.

You can always apply for a tiny house through the usual council planning portal. However If you do this you will need to engage with a Private Certifier to completed the paper work, however it may mean that you will also need to supply engineering, plumbing  and electrical certification along with other reports.
